On Fridays we will post
Go Ask Mother here,
instead of jumping between two blogs.
Mom was talking about getting nutty.

Mom was talking about getting nutty.
Mr. P asks:
Would you ever consider taking your pups on a plane? Or have you ever taken them on a plane.
Mother:
No, I have not. Since they are 6 and 7 years old I would not at this point. I do take into consideration the Brachycephalic breed (flat-faced). Personally, I thing I would worry to much. One thing I would NEVER do is ship them in cargo.
I agree with you, as long as we have to travel in the cargo area, flying is no option. (except it would be really essential) But even when a dog is small enough to be allowed in the cabin, not all airlines are pet friendly.
ReplyDeleteit is tough - Mom says if we ever win the lotto - we are flying first class back to Australia and will have first class seats - I doubt the airlines would allow it - but then she says she would just hire a private jet and we could sit anywhere we like :)
ReplyDeleteWe 100% agree ...especially when the pet is older and has never traveled just too stressful...the cargo area sounds very scary, noisy and we hear it is cold there too
ReplyDeleteHugs madi your bfff
I agree...We might take Arty in the cabin with us at some point, but never, ever, ever will we put any of our pack in the cargo hold. Way too many horror stories!!!
ReplyDeleteMy Mommy agrees with your Mommy. She says she would be way too nervous and worried about me and she could never let them take me to the cargo area. I am way too nervous a pup. No flying for me!
ReplyDeleteLoveys Sasha
Cargo never! Unfortunately I am too big to fly in the cabin, otherwise mom just might try it! Love Dolly
ReplyDeleteMom had a couple of friends who moved to USA to work for two years. There dog (the breed Old English Sheepdog) was gone when they would pick him up in the Airport in Atlanta. They were terrifired. They had to stop over in Frankfurt and it turned out that the dog had accidentally been sent to Canada. It took a week before they got him.
ReplyDeleteI have often wondered how that would go but no, I would not. I would rather drive if I am bringing my babies with me. Or they must have their own seat. Which most airlines don't like. I will NOT put them in cargo.
ReplyDeleteI can't get to the other blog. Oh the horror--- is it goaskmother.com?
ReplyDeleteWell, this is a deep subject! Mom flew to England and picked me up when I was 9 weeks old. I flew back to Germany with her in the cabin. She never wanted us to be in cargo, but when we moved back from Germany, there was no option. We just made sure we had one non stop flight and did driving on either end as needed. Mom worked for the airline for many years and knew it was fairly safe, but still she was worried sick until we met up again in customs. Now we drive all over creation because she doesn't want us flying. You short nosed breeds have added risks, so I totally understand your mom.
ReplyDeleteI'm totally with you. I feel the same, with cats as well. Unless they HAVE to fly, I don't see the point. Much too stressful and planes are germ-ridden! They don't need to be exposed to all of the germs on the plane.
ReplyDeleteNever cargo, but mine are both small enough to fly in cabin and I'll most likely do it with them at some point.

Nope never have and never will, Dad says we are not cargo! and thats how we stand!
ReplyDeleteThe Mad Scots
No never would i go in the cargo area.
ReplyDeleteI hope you can go where ever your Mom
goes in the car with her,
xo Cinnamon
Bella and Dui were cargo when they came here. But we haven't been in planes.
ReplyDeletePhantom is the only one of us who has ever been on a plane. Mom says it all ended just fine, but she was a nervous wreck about flying four dogs in the hold of a plane. Seems like there ought to be a better plan.
ReplyDeleteHappy weekend.

I agree with you about cargo, although we've had puppies shipped to us by airplane (via supposedly very reliable pet shipping companies - and our pups seemed well cared for when they arrived).
ReplyDeleteIt was a very good question, and very good answers too!

We have never been flying and doubt we ever will. Getting nutty on a Friday sounds good to us. Have a super Saturday.
ReplyDeleteBest wishes Molly
Mom says that if we can't sit in the seat right next to her, then we don't fly!
ReplyDeleteLove ya lots♥

Hello! My 8 year old daughter used to have a frenchie and it was too bad because her pet got lost around the neighborhood. We tried finding him around, but it was too late because her pet got hit by a car. Since then, my daughter do not want any pets to take care of. Anyone here have the same experience? What did you guys do? Thanks!
