Itchies x 10

We are miserable lately.
We have the itchies up the wa-zoooo.
Fatty's feets are red and his hairs are dwindling on his belly.
She water boards us in medicated shampoo, she rinses our feets after walks,
we get meds and anti-his-tameeeens,
we get brushed, massaged,
and carried.
This is the worse year and season for allergies yet.
Are you experiencing anything unusual?
Itchy and red,
Lily & Edward

  1. Ruby has been suffering since spring time and usually by May is 100% better but she is still having issues and now even Owen is being affected, he has red watery eyes every day. Medicated baths and a zyrtec are helping but this year is horrible...we are in Oklahoma. Even mine have been bad. Feel better Lily and Edward, winter will be here sooner than we think!

  3. Lily and Edward we are so sorry about your itches. I know it must be more miserable when it is hot too..mom is the one in our family who normally gets the itches. 'skeeters love her...she recently learned folks with her type blood, O, (her's is + too...which must make her tastier) are more attractive to biting insects. I wish I could send you some of my super powered kitty slobber.
    hugs madi your bfff

  6. My sweet Pickle's allergies are just now doing better but they were really bad around spring time. He's been on antibiotics, prednisone, Answers raw goats milk and benadryl but nothing has helped like a product I found through a Frenchie that had been rescued. A vet donated to it the foster mom and she took pictures to show his progress. It worked wonderful for him so I ordered and gave it a try. It's called Omega Booster. The website is www.HEALx.com. it's a bit expensive, I ordered the large jar and found as soon as I ran out his welts and bumps would return. It has really been a good product for Pickle. I went to re order and found that because of the heat they don't ship from I believe May - Aug. Check out their website for before and after pictures. If you give it a try be sure to order the large jar and the Omega Booster NOT just Booster. I made that mistake with my first order and quickly ran out of the small jar and the Omega is better for allergies. Good luck Lily and Edward, we hope your itchies go away!!! 💜

  9. We haf not had that problem very bad so far, momma read somewhere that if you put organic apple cider vinegar just a small bit in ours water it would help wif that, AND she always rinses us off in that also after a bath. She puts a couple of capfuls in 1 cup of warm water and pours it overs us. At first it does smell a little bit like a pickle but then we dry nice and soft and fluffy and no itchies. We are sorry you are itching so bad.

  23. Do you know what you're allergic to? My Guinness, a Cocker Spaniel, has food allergies environmental, allergies. She is on a special diet and gets allergy shots, two Benadryls a day and she still itches, especially under her chin and on her bum! Don't know what else to do for her. It seems this time of year is the worst!

  30. The Coconut Oil stuffs is pretty good.... butt start Slow or your poop shooters will go WILD... We have been having it on our foods since MARCH and it makes our FURS SOFT on top of everythingy else.
Now about that VINEGAR... you need to get it from a NATURAL Source... like a Farmer's Market or such... and ASK... "will this get MOTHER in the jar?"... THAT is what you need... not the regular kind from the REGULAR Grocery store...
Your mom can make a SOLUTION 1 part Vinegar and 5 parts Water... then Stand in it... and have your mom pour it over you... PEE S... it is OK to drink it... just a little of it... DO NOT RINSE it off. Just Pat dry.
It works for LOTS of the thingys that cause us to Itch...
BUTT have you asked your Dogtor about this... It MIGHT be a Yeast Infection... and the Vinegar works for THAT too...
BUTT you MUST do the Vinegar thingy DAILY for about 3 weeks.. for it to work for ANY cause.
PEE S.... you CAN use the same solution for 3 days..before starting a new solution. THAT saves a bit on the ol' Fleasa Card. If you get our drift.
THIS is what OHIO STATE Univ. VET. School Recommended fur Angel Pretzel when she had MAJOR itchies.

  33. I am allergic to god knows what. When it is really bad, I get some prednisolon and it helps. Nothing else help me.

  34. Try Apoquel. New drug from our vet and it works for our frenchie. Lola tested over 3000 on local grasses and trees here in Illinois. She was losing hair and getting sores on her belly and her feet were puffy from chewing them. It works so well. Drug is hard for vet to get because it is in demand and not enough supply at this time. We tried immune shots for two years then prednisone which helped but made her more aggressive with our other two frenchies. Now she is a happy girl! Please try it.

  40. Oh no! Greta is actually having a much better summer than last year when hers first started. we had her on Limited Ing Food all winter and spring. And over the winter 2.5 mil of prednisone every 3 rd day, But she got itchy again in June. so she gets her 1/2 pill every other day. We are also trying Nu-Vet Plus to see if it helps. Also have been introducing more food back in her diet which seem to be going OK. Even though the vet says the prednisone is such a low dose it wont hurt her , mom would rather find a way to do without

  42. Mom says we are very lucky not to have those kinds of allergies, but we are so sorry you both have the mega-itchies. We are sure your Mom has tried everything and that she has the best of medical attention, but has she ever tried adding some oil to your kibble? Or do you get fish oil capsules? Just a thought.

  46. My mom's beagle always seems to be red and itchy. When my dad was alive, he took the dog to the vet several times for various tests and they never did figure out what was causing it. The vet thought maybe the dog was allergic to wheat, so that was cut out of his diet. Doesn't seem to help much though!

My dad had bought various anti-itch treatments for the dog before taking him to the vet. The vet said that they probably just made the dog itchier. :( I'm not sure what, if anything, my mom gives him for the itchies now.

  51. Poor guys! Itchies are miserable. We usually get the red paws and underbelly too. Mosquito bites look like welts. This summer we've been taken Quercetin which is a natural antihistamine. It's working for us better than Benadryl did as far as the redness (and incessant licking). Our holistic vet recommended it, and we get it from Amazon. Hope you are feeling better soon!
