Today is Groundhog Day. Why in the world would a day be set aside for a gigantic hamster? Probably cause they are cute. For our friends around the world who never heard of such a thing here are the details--
informed us: Groundhog Day is an annual holiday celebrated on February 2. It is held in the United States and Canada. According to folklore, if a groundhog emerging from its burrow on this day fails to see its shadow, it will leave the burrow, signifying that winter will soon end. If on the other hand, the groundhog sees its shadow, the groundhog will supposedly retreat into its burrow, and winter will continue for six more weeks.
What the heck. Get down Lil, so he doesn't see us. Why do we need a weather person if we have gigantic hamsters predicting the weather. This whole thing is crazy.
Do you guys celebrate any day for gigantic animals?
Luv
Benny & Lily

Yikes. You got me. I was anxiously waiting for your blog to load when instead of your adorable faces, I was faced with the gigantic hamster! Warning next time please BOL (yes, I did get a glimpse of you in the last photo, but only a glimpse)
ReplyDeleteTwink!
Any excuse for a holiday. Happy Groudhog Day :)
ReplyDeleteOur former Runaway Governor, Sarah Palin, declared last year (when she was still Governor) that in Alaska, February 2 would be called MARMOT DAY instead of Groundhog Day. Maybe that is because we have no groundhogs. If we did, they would be rogue hogs!! hehehehehe Toby, Ginger, Jeter and Halle, (as dictated to their mom). xoxo
ReplyDeleteMaybe Lilly could lend him her pit-bull shadow from yesterday! Oh wait, that means we have 6 more weeks of winter - what am I thinking?? Not that you there in sunny CA can hardly tell the difference!!
