What a better way to have spent New Years Day, at the Rose Bowl Parade. The parade was started to celebrate California's mild winter climate, the Tournament's founders and Valley Hunt Club members, Dr. Francis Rowland and Prof. Charles Holder, created a floral festival in 1890 patterned after the "Battle of the Flowers" in Nice, France. Yep France…Frenchies, French Bulldogs, France...1890 was a long time ago. I don't think we were born yet, but maybe momma was. We wanted to share some highlights of the parade.
Bulldogs on Dick Van Pattens Natural Balance Float!! Yahoooo....We love that food.
Following the parade peoples watched No. 8 ranked Ohio State Buckeyes and the No. 7 Oregon Ducks battle it out. Rose Bowl Champs! Buckeyes down Ducks, 26-17 Brutus got out his boxing gloves and let that duck have it!
We have a feeling our friend Brutus will have a lot to say about the game. You can visit him over at his blog.

Great commentary you guys. How was it riding on that zebra? bol! We love Natural Balance too. Our Grandma wen to the Rose Parade and said the NB float stopped in front of them so they got to watch the Bulldogs for awhile.

ReplyDeleteHAPPY NEW YEAR TO YOU ALL!
We hope this year is gonna be a splendid one.
Gee, what a parade!!! What on earth does that Zebra thingy have on its head? Is it a mane (or perhaps horns??? hehe)
Very impressive though...everyone seems to have gone to immense trouble to produce a wonderful spectacle like that.
Keep warm little guys. Its lovely to see you again!
