Gobble Gobble Gobble

Happy Turkeys!
For those friends across the globe here is a very short version of the history of Thanksgiving and the traditional Macys Day Parade. We did not make this up. The History Channel and Wikipedia gave us this information for you. Eat treats, drink water and enjoy your kibble.
The First Thanksgiving
In 1621, the Plymouth colonists and Wampanoag Indians shared an autumn harvest feast which is acknowledged today as one of the first Thanksgiving celebrations in the colonies
Macys Day Parade
In the 1920s many of Macy's department store employees were first-generation immigrants. They wanted to celebrate the United States holiday of Thanksgiving with the type of festival their parents had loved in Europe.
In 1924, the inaugural parade (originally known as the Macy's Christmas Parade was staged by the store. Employees and professional entertainers marched from 145th Street in Harlem to Macy's flagship store on 34th Street dressed in vibrant costumes.
Lily, did you ever wonder what it would be like if we were floating in the Thanksgiving Macys Day Parade?
Enjoy your day friends....
Luv, Benny & Lily
PS. We are thankful for everyday our family, ALL of you "our friends", cheese,bones,treats,stuffies...

  20. Hi Benny and Lily
Well thanks very much for explaining a bit about Thanksgiving to us foreigners. Any holidays that involves spending lots of time with one's family, eating too much food, just has to be a good thing. I wish we had it here is Scotland (especially as November is SUCH a dark and dreary time of year!)
So, make the most of it and enjoy!
    Cheers, H.
